Custom Cognos Training

InfoCube training services are designed to provide your end users with immediately useful knowledge, gained over your data, in your environment.  Users will walk away with reports already saved into their portal workspace or if you have implemented a planning solution, leave the training environment ready to start contributing.

Use your Data

For a Reporting or Analytic application, we prefer to develop a course over your data and deliver it using your environment.  We can deliver "canned" courses, however when examples are written utilising your data, then they can be more relevant to the business.

Tailored to Users Needs

You may have different sets of users with different needs.  For example a sales person may need to know how to run reports that tell them what their customers are buying and to have them scheduled to run every day, while an accountant may require in depth knowledge how to analyse a general ledger cube.  Having both sit in the same session would be a waste of time, therefore we would tailor the tuition to meet the needs of your audience.

Timing

Typically we require 2 days of preparation to deliver a single day of training.  This allows us to develop examples and problems utilising your systems and to customise training material towards your business.  This isn't set in stone, however is a guide to preparation time.

Training Material

Our experience has shown that people get the most out of training when they do it with one person to a machine and take notes at the same time.  We would normally deliver a printed set of slides to each course participant and strongly encourage each person to make detailed notes on these as we go through the course.

Coaching

Some executives do not have the time to participate in a day or half day training session and need to be able to use their Cognos tools effectively.  For these people, personal coaching may be the answer.  For this, we will agree training objectives and then personally coach the person to achieve the desired level of proficiency.

Cost

We will charge our trainer at the normal consulting rates for the time they are preparing for or delivering your course.  Therefore for a one day course, we will typically charge 3 days of time for preparation and delivery.  This may be significantly cheaper than more formal training.
